Memorial Resin Art Q&A

Creating memorial pieces is one of the most tender, emotional parts of what I do—and one of the greatest honors. Whether it’s to remember someone you’ve lost, to preserve a moment that changed you, or to celebrate love in its truest form, these creations hold more than resin. They hold you.

Because this process can bring up a lot of questions, I’ve gathered some of the most common ones here—answered simply and honestly to help you feel more comfortable as we create together.

---

🌼 What counts as a “memorial piece”?

Memorial simply means to remember. It doesn’t have to be tied to loss. It could honor a person, a pet, a milestone, or even a feeling you don’t want to let go of. I’ve made pieces to celebrate love stories, weddings, births, retirements—and, yes, to grieve those we’ve lost. If it matters to you, it belongs in a memorial.

---

🌿 Do I need to have something physical to include?

Not at all. Some of the most meaningful pieces I’ve made came from conversations—not objects. You can tell me about the person or moment, and we’ll work together to create a piece that reflects it. We can pull from colors, scents, places, songs, even inside jokes—anything that makes your memory yours.

---

🌸 What can you include inside a memorial resin piece?

There are so many beautiful possibilities. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, and we’ll choose what feels most meaningful. Some of the most common inclusions are:

🌼 Dried flowers (from a service, bouquet, or shared garden)

📸 Photographs (any size, printed and sealed to stay protected inside the resin)

✂️ Hair or fur

🧵 Fabric or clothing

🐾 Pet tags or whiskers

🖋 Handwriting from cards or notes

🧩 Small keepsakes like beads, buttons, charms

🪶 Ashes (handled with care and respect)

If you’re ever unsure about what can be used, I’m always happy to talk it through.

---

⏳ What if I’m not ready yet?

That’s okay. There’s no “right” time to create a memorial. Some people come in right away, others wait years. If you have something that may fade—like flowers—I can help preserve them now so you don’t have to rush the rest. Your heart knows when it’s ready, and I’ll be here when it is.

---

🎨 Can I be involved in the design?

Absolutely—and honestly, it’s better that way. These are your memories, and I welcome as much input as you’re comfortable sharing. Want to help choose colors, shapes, or layout? Let’s do it together. Need to keep it simple? Just give me a theme or feeling, and I’ll take care of the rest with gentle hands.

---

💧 Is it okay if I cry when I pick it up?

Yes. Always.

Memorials stir up big feelings—grief, love, joy, nostalgia. Whether you’re remembering someone you lost, a beloved pet, or celebrating a life milestone like a wedding or birth—those emotions are welcome here. If you cry, I’ll probably cry too. You’re not alone in this.

---

🕰️ How long does it take?

Timing depends on size and materials. Small, simple pieces (like a photo or charm) usually take 1–2 weeks.

If we’re using live flowers, they’ll need 6–8 days to dry before I can start. Larger pieces are poured in layers and take several days to build and at least a week to cure fully. I’ll give you an estimated timeline when we plan your piece.

---

🐾 Do you make pet memorials, too?

Yes, with all my heart.

Being a pet parent myself, I understand how deep that bond runs. Whether it’s a bit of fur, a collar tag, or just a memory you want to hold onto, I’ll help you create something that honors their spirit and the love you shared.

---

🧡 What if I have no idea what I want?

That’s totally okay.

Big moments like these—whether joyful or heartbreaking—can make it hard to think clearly. I’ll guide you through it. We can start with a few simple questions, share some stories, and before you know it, we’ll have a design that feels just right.

---

🎁 Bonus: What makes it “custom”?

Everything. No two memorials are the same. From the shape to the contents to the colors and layout, each one is built for you, and no one else.
